Overview:
The purpose of this wheelchair seating adjustments workshop is for clinicians working in disability and aged care to develop an understanding of manual wheelchairs, their seating systems and learn how to perform basic adjustments required for their clients.
About the presenter:
David Westbrook is an experienced scripted equipment specialist with 8 years of experience working in healthcare. David works as an expert consultant within the disability sector and has special interests in powered wheelchair scripting, modifications and customizations. On a daily basis, he works very closely with therapists in getting to know clients on a personal level, understanding their needs, their daily functions and goals, and assists with scripting and modifications of equipment to deliver that optimal solution to suit an individual’s specific needs.
About this workshop:
This is an interactive workshop designed to help clinicians improve their competence when performing basic adjustments to their client’s wheelchair and accessories. Participants will also benefit from learning more about wheelchair seating and posture challenges.
Wheelchairs used to facilitate training in this workshop will include the Quickie 2, Quickie 2 Lite, Quickie SR45, Quickie Iris, Pulse 5 and Pulse 6.
This session is free of charge and designed to benefit clinicians who work in both disability and aged care environments.
