The Seniors and Carers Expo is the largest annual seniors’ community event organized by the City of Rockingham. #AgeFriendlyRockingham
This year’s event coincided with the International Day of Older Persons, which is celebrated annually on 1 October.
The expo featured 150 stalls and was held over two free ticketed sessions at Mike Barnett Sports Complex. It provided seniors and carers with the opportunity to connect with a range of organisations, community groups and government departments to learn about the amazing support available to them.
Over 3000 seniors and carers attend the expo back in 2019. It was called off in 2020 due to rising COVID-19 concerns and to protect our senior community’s health and safety. We are so glad to see the expo return this year, bigger and better than ever!
Unicare Health is thrilled to be selected as the Gold Sponsor for Seniors and Carers Expo again this year. We are honoured to be recognized as a valuable contributor of senior services and equipment to the Rockingham community and enjoyed our time working with the organizers to promote this remarkable seniors event.
The Unicare Health team had a fantastic time presenting a range of independent living aids and equipment to hundreds of seniors who were interested in learning more about products to support their aging at home and in the community.
Our raised toilet seat with arms was interestingly a head-turner, with several seniors commenting on how they wished theirs had a seat lid and swing back arms for support. They were also delighted to learn that we offered hassle-free installation services!
Seniors were drawn to the range of one-touch kitchen aids such as the one-touch automatic bottle opener, one-touch automatic can opener and one-touch automatic jar opener that performs these handy kitchen jobs without any human intervention. They were awed to see these little gadgets opening tight fitting bottle tops and cutting through cans effortlessly! Ideal for those suffering from arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome, these aids also make life easier and effective for anyone using them.
At our booth, seniors also learned about stocking aids to make putting socks on and off simpler, dressing sticks to make putting garments on and off easier, button hooks and zipper pulls for those with limited dexterity due to arthritis, and so much more.
Many seniors were surprised to see so many products they didn’t know existed!

We had a great time at the show and glad to be exhibiting alongside our community partners such as Silver Chain, 360 Health and Community, Comfort Keepers, Advocare, MercyCare, Therapy Focus, Indigo Solutions, Arcadia Waters, Amana Living, Baptistcare, Aegis and more.
