Overview:
Pressure ulcers are a major contributor to morbidity, mortality and decreased quality of life. Patients are particularly at risk of developing a pressure ulcer if immobile, incontinent or cognitively impaired. Pressure injuries are largely avoidable injuries. A lot of pain can be reduced and money saved from preventing moderate pressure injuries (Stage I and II) from developing into severe cases (Stage III and IV).
Unicare Health’s Occupational Therapist and Product Consultant, Annette Terranova, together with Care of Sweden – world leaders in the manufacture of pressure care products, will be conducting an interactive pressure care management seminar for therapists, clinical nurses and healthcare professionals.
About the speaker:
Annette Terranova is an occupational therapist with over 30 years experience working in healthcare. Annette has worked extensively as a clinician and consultant within the aged care sector and has special interests in manual handling and pressure management. Annette has significant experience in prescribing products for the effective prevention and treatment of pressure injuries and has assisted hundreds of other therapists with pressure injury management.
Feedback from previous pressure management seminars Annette has conducted:
“After attending this training session, we now have better insight on how to reposition residents and perfectly care for them”
“Best pressure care training I have had”
“Hi Annette, Thank you again for a very successful and interactive Pressure care Management and Seating/Positioning training session on Wednesday. You were fantastic! Our staff absolutely enjoyed the session and gave some amazing feedback about you and the session content.”
About this seminar:
The purpose of this seminar is to educate health professionals working in hospitals and aged care the management techniques surrounding pressure injuries and methods of care to prevent largely avoidable pressure injuries. New pressure care products are becoming increasingly sophisticated. If best patient outcomes are to be achieved, being up-to-date with pressure care management strategies and effective use of product functions is essential.
This pressure management seminar will be provided FREE of charge and we encourage all hospital and aged care clinicians to attend.
