Held at the Pan Pacific Hotel on the 10/11th June, the theme of this conference was “Breaking Down Barriers through Participation”. OT’s from across Australia were inspired and treated to the Keynote address presented by Nic Emmerson using a voice App on his iPad. Nic’s world changed when he was knocked from his scooter by a school bus at the age of 16. Following a horrific and life threatening Aquired Brain Injury, Nic, now 21 and his Primary Occupational Therapist shared the story of Nic’s rehabilitation process and the life lessons the client taught the therapist through Participation.
This address set the scene for 2 days of networking, learning and exploring equipment and therapy options available to therapists.
