Unicare Health would like to thank our friends at the Seniors Recreation Council of WA (SRCWA) for having us at the 2021 Rockingham Have a Go Day. The event was a resounding success with an estimated 850 seniors participating in fun and colourful activities throughout the day.
This was the at 10th Rockingham Have a Go Day, a LiveLighter Event which was held for the first time at Mike Barnett Sports Complex in Rockingham. There were more than 80 booths and activities spread across the main hall showcasing Seniors’ Clubs, Groups, Agencies and Businesses servicing the Rockingham locality.
Our community team enjoyed a fantastic time at the show, sharing tips and techniques with seniors looking to adopt safer living practices at home and in the community.
Our #safeseniors information booth featured a range of products to promote senior safety.
Falls are frequent among older people, often leading to injuries that may be difficult to recover from. Safety products such as grab rails, raised toilet seats and shower chairs are designed to reduce those risks.
A good quality seat walker can provide the added stability to get around the house and when going out.
Seniors at the show were given the opportunity to ‘have a go’ in one of Shoprider’s latest mobility scooters, play with innovative kitchen gadgets and learn about new products that make life easier & safer for people living with aging conditions such as arthritis, dementia and incontinence.
Lots of seniors were amazed by the number of intelligent assistive products they did not know existed.
Thanks to the hard work of the SRCWA Rockingham Branch volunteers lead by Branch President Carole Overington, the day was a resounding success and ran extremely smoothly.
Unicare Health enjoyed a bustling time at the show and would like to thank SRCWA for welcoming us every year and for your tremendous effort hosting events to keep Perth seniors connected.
We look forward to being a part of the show again next year.
